Last weekend, Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk hosted the 11th annual championship among Gazprom Group companies in the Far East, which was timed to coincide with Oil, Gas and Fuel Industry Workers Day! Seven sports teams from Gazprom companies took part in the competition. The competition program included various sports for men’s and women’s teams, such as beach volleyball, futsal, track and field, table tennis, shooting, darts, tug-of-war, and others.
Oleg Vladimirovich Klimenko, an employee of PROJECT GROUP HOLDING COMPANY, also took part in the obstacle course in a quartet of athletes from our subsidiary GPI Sakhalin, in which discipline he took an honorable 3rd place! In the overall team scoring, the GPI Sakhalin team took 2nd place in a fierce battle, yielding to the team from Gazprom Dobycha Shelf!
Sports can serve as a training ground for competitive struggle in business. Techniques that work in games and sports can also be applied in business dealings with competitors.
Unity of spirit, determination, perseverance and mutual respect are the keys to leadership qualities that are important both in sports and in business for obtaining high achievements!
